The idyllically located museum presents internationally renowned artists and parts of its permanent collection.

The waterfront location is uniquely stunning. However, the trip to Kunstmuseum Thun, located 30 kilometers south of Bern, is also worth it for the art. Each year, five exhibitions take place on the ground floor of the former 1870’s Grand Hotel. The focus is on internationally acclaimed younger and middle-aged artists. Famous Swiss artists are frequently shown, including Fabrice Gygi, Thomas Hirschhorn and Costa Vece, who took part in the exhibition "Formen von Widerstand in der zeitgenössischen Kunst" (Forms of resistance in contemporary art). Parts of the collection – representative of important Swiss pieces of the 20th and 21st centuries – are shown in rotation, as in "Landschaft im Wandel" (Landscapes in Transition).
