Works by in-demand Austrian and European artists are on display at the Kunstverein.

This institution aims to be a place of artistic production. An estimated 85% of works are made by artists specifically for exhibitions at the Kunstverein, and are financed by it. The program comprises around five annual exhibitions with sought-after Austrian and European artists. They have included solo shows by Michaela Meise, Matts Leiderstam and Henning Bohl & Sabine Reitmaier. The Kunstverein, founded in 1986, has several hundred members and since 2010 has been based in the ground-floor arcade of Palais Trauttmansdorff. It occupies three rooms plus the foyer, with around 350 square meters of exhibition space, in the former brewery with large windows facing the inner courtyard.
