A young art world on the shores of Lake Constance

It might surprise some people but the list on art in the region is full of insider tips. They are of recent date the institutions which were established from the 1980s onwards, and which focus on contemporary art. The crowd-puller is the architecturally unique Kunsthaus Bregenz with its international reputation. It is followed by dedicated private institutions and art associations say in Schaffhausen, St. Gallen or Dornbirn. On the Swiss side, Kunstmuseum St. Gallen and Museum zu Allerheiligen in Schaffhausen offer traditional collections, while on the German side there is the Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen.
